Cookie Policy

StudioTrackr uses one analytics cookie, and no advertising cookies. It is set by PostHog, our analytics provider, and it exists to tell us how people find this site and whether they get where they were going. We use no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no ad networks, and we never sell or share what it records. Turning on Do Not Track in your browser switches it off before anything is sent.
This cookie policy is part of Monument Apps, LLC's privacy policy. It explains what we store on your device instead, and how to remove it.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device when you visit, and which your browser then sends back to that website with every subsequent request. Because they are transmitted automatically, cookies are the usual mechanism behind analytics and cross-site advertising.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies whose code runs on that page are called third-party cookies, and those can be used to track you across other websites using the same service. The one cookie we set is the analytics cookie described below; it is not used for advertising and it does not follow you to any site that is not ours.
What else we store: local storage
Most of what the application keeps on your device is in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It is similar to a cookie in that the data sits on your device, but different in an important way: it is never transmitted to us automatically. It is readable only by the application itself, running in your own browser.
We store the following:

None of this is used to profile you, and none of it is shared. There is no advertising equivalent, because we run none.
The analytics cookie
One cookie is set by PostHog, which handles analytics for us. It holds a random identifier — not your name, not your email — and it is scoped to studiotrackr.com so that reading this site and then using the application count as one visit rather than two strangers.
What it lets us see: which page you landed on, which site or search sent you, roughly where in the world you are (from your IP address, which PostHog discards after deriving the country), and what kind of device you used. Inside the application it records which screens were opened, tied to your account id and nothing else.
What it never records: your audio, your lyrics, your notes, your project or song names, or anything you type. Session recording is switched off everywhere. In the application we also switch off the automatic click-tracking that would otherwise capture the text of whatever you clicked, precisely because on those screens that text is your work.
How to remove it
Clearing site data for studiotrackr.com in your browser settings removes everything listed above and signs you out of the application. Signing out removes the authentication session on its own.
On this website the analytics cookie is only set if you agreed to it. We ask once, in a small banner at the bottom of your first page, and we remember the answer for six months — whichever way you answered. Changing your mind is a button, not an email:
You can also refuse before we ask, by switching on Do Not Track (or Global Privacy Control) in your browser. We check for it first, so no banner appears, no cookie is written, and no event leaves your device.
Inside the application we do not ask again. Using an account means accepting the Terms of Service, which incorporate this policy and the providers named in the privacy policy, and measuring which screens get used is part of running the service. If you declined on this website, though, that answer travels with you — the application reads the same choice and stays off. Do Not Track is honoured there too.
The website you are reading now runs two scripts of its own: a small animation that fades sections into view as you scroll, which reads and writes nothing and sends nothing anywhere, and the one that asks the question above. PostHog's own script is fetched only if you say yes — decline, and it is never downloaded at all.
Third-party services
Three parts of the Service hand you off to another company's website, and once you are on their domain their own cookie practices and policies apply, not ours:
- Stripe, if you subscribe — payment is completed on Stripe's own checkout page. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Google, if you choose Google sign-in — you authenticate on Google's own sign-in page. See Google's privacy policy.
- Apple, if you choose Sign in with Apple — you authenticate on Apple's own sign-in page. See Apple's privacy policy.
None of their code runs on StudioTrackr's pages, so none of them can set a cookie through us or observe your activity within the app.
